So…how do you feel about hurricanes? For our last trip we were invited to go to Cabo san Lucas in September. A friend’s band was playing at the Jungle Bar and another friend just bought a place down there. So….we flew out on Saturday, September 20th -on the tail end of Hurricane Lorena. You already know, we Wackers like an adventure!!
Other than the Hurricane, the adventure started at Paine Field in Everett – wonderful, small airport!! Any way….I had packed my carry-on with a jar candle as a housewarming gift. FYI – TSA WILL take your bag out of the scanner and go through it if you have a jar candle due to its density….ok. After my bag was cleared we were on our way to our first stop, San Diego. We had an eight hour layover because apparently SD airport closes at night. Alrighty then…hotel it was. After a couple quick hours of sleep, we were back at the airport and headed to Cabo. Finally.
As you may have noticed, Chris and I love to explore when we travel. We don’t typically lounge around much. Cabo was different. Rather than exploring and excursions, this trip was a much needed R&R vacation. A lot of pool play time and relaxation – lots of guacamole and salsa with chips for lunches! We took plenty of time on the beach as well – of course. Evenings we met up with friends to have dinner, visit, walk around and listen to music.
While Cabo may not be our “go-to” spot, we will go back. Preferably NOT during a hurricane though! Although….I will hand it to the locals. They are dialed in when it comes to prep and clean-up. Everything was in perfect working order when we got there. Pretty amazing stuff!
