What does adventure mean to you? According to Webster’s Dictionary, the definition of Adventure is:
- a: an undertaking usually involving danger and unknown risks b: the encountering of risks
- an exciting or remarkable experience
- an enterprise involving financial risk
To my husband Chris and I, every day is an adventure. To us, it doesn’t necessarily mean something new or travel (although, that is fun – more on travel later). More like, every day life. I work in downtown Seattle and each day, coming and going is an adventure. From crazy drivers to the “what sort of characters will I run into downtown” moments. Life is full of “what’s next” moments but if you can learn to approach them with humor and hope rather than “oh my God the sky is falling”, you’ll find yourself in an unintended adventure.
In case you couldn’t tell, I love that word. Adventure. It has so many wonderful connotations. You can turn anything into an adventure. It’s all about perspective (another great word by the way), about how you see the world and life. How do you approach life? Are you an optimist? A realist? A pessimist? Some combination of the three? I consider myself an optimistic realist. It’s not complicated. Or, I should say, it’s only as complicated as YOU make it.
So, I’ll ask again – what does adventure mean to you?
I admire this side of you, Cathy. Treat every experience as an adventure and your life will be full and rich.
Thank you Steve!! And that is exactly my point. Good or bad, everything can be an adventure!
Looking forward to following your adventures (and perhaps being a part of some). 😛

Why am I NOT surprised. 😛
