As it’s Thanksgiving, I decided to focus on gratitude (something I try to practice every day, not just during the holidays). Gratitude is an amazing feeling. If you can live your life with a sense of gratitude instead of entitlement, you’re golden! With so much to be grateful in my life, I’m going to touch on one of my biggest – my family. I have a fairly large family. At 47 years old, I’m blessed and grateful to still have a grandparent in my life. My grandmother is an amazing, talented, intelligent and thoughtful soul. I’ve always wished I had one tenth of the talent she possesses. I also have my amazing husband, one son, one daughter in law, one grandson, my parents, four aunts, six uncles, one brother, nine first cousins, two (so far) second cousins, two brother in-laws, one sister in-law, my father & mother in-law and five nieces. I’m grateful and blessed to have them all in my life (as you can see….if they are all together in one spot it can get a little…”rambunctious”).
My family doesn’t get together as much as we used to – families grow and spread out and it’s just a fact of life. But I’m so grateful for those times when we can make it happen…even if it’s just a moment in time.
This is only a part (a BIG part) of everything I’m grateful for every day in my life. Gratitude will probably be an ongoing theme in my posts….What is a simple thing you’re grateful for?
I have had a long and (some would say) exciting life. Yes, I’m grateful for the opportunities and experiences that have come my way, but what I am most grateful for is my health (which I hope to get back in full this year) and the friendships I have made along the way. Friendships endure and grow, giving back more each day. Thank you for your friendship, Cathy and Chris.
Thank you Steve! We value your friendship more than you know. Oh and BTW, I’m 1/2 way through your book! hoping to finish on Friday. So far so good!!
